Dental Assistant in Tucson, Arizona at Giacare Inc

GiaCare Inc., in anticipation of a future government contract award, is currently accepting applications for experienced, civilian Dental Assistants to work alongside the federal government in support of the 355th Medical Group at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base (Tucson, Arizona).

Qualifications

• Degree/Education: Certificate.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Experience: Six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant after graduation.
• Board Certification: Certified in radiography.
• Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Dental Hygienist.

 All training must have included a course in radiation physics; radiation biology; radiation health, safety, and protection; X-ray films and radiographic film quality; radiographic techniques; darkroom and processing techniques; film mounting; and, digital radiographic processing techniques.

Duties

• Obtain and record patient vitals to include blood pressure, temperature, pulse oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, and pulse.
• Perform retraction of tissues, suction, and maintenance of a clear operating field during procedures.
• Instruct patients in proper dental techniques, provide oral hygiene instructions to include causes and prevention of dental decay.
• Performs administrative duties to include locating and filing charts, administrative review of charts, and patient phone calls.
• Assist the dentist in utilizing the Corporate Dental Application or other system as directed to record patient care narratives and schedule patients.
• Maintain Dental Treatment Room to include lockup of pharmaceuticals stored in the room, maintaining suitable stock of supplies, performing minor repairs and/or requesting a work order for repair of non-functional equipment, monitoring expiration dates and removing expired items from the room, and ensuring compliance with infection control and safety guidelines.
• Assist in managing medical emergencies.
