Anchor Packaging operates 4 locations in NE Arkansas. PURPOSE

Responsible for all aspects of material management at the Paragould production plant excluding the rail systems and Inline blending areas. Responsible for the development of all policies and procedures which affect inventory transactions and the duties of material handlers, grinders, material coordinators, and cycle counters in the department. Responsible for the effective use of financial, material, and human resources allocated to the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Ensures accuracy of all manufacturing materials inventory at Paragould production plant.

2. Manages and develops the use of Oracle throughout the Paragould production plant.

3. Ensure proper controls over perpetual inventories monthly through effective management techniques, cycle counting, and reporting programs. Ensure that daily practices and procedures that impact inventory are consistent with the desired results achieved through physical count.

4. Orders and maintains all equipment and supplies needed to support Oracle and other inventory functions including physical inventory.

5. Oversees and manages all functions associated with physical inventory from preparation through final and complete reconciliation.

6. Monitor and drive improvement of scrap inventory and grinds to be recycled.

7. Manage and meet budget targets and identify cost reduction opportunities

8. Coordinates through rigid supervisor all the activities of material handlers in shipping/receiving and grinding ensuring productivity requirements are met.

9. Direct responsibility for two rigid supervisors and supply chain specialist.

10. Direct responsibility for cycle count group and their activities at all NE ARK locations.

PRIMARY INTERACTIONS

Daily contact with various levels of personnel within company for meetings, data gathering, problem resolution, disseminating information, training, etc. Works closely with other managers to insure inventory accountability and accuracy.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES

This job manages inventory and cycle count personnel.

COMPETENCIES

  1. Abilities to communicate effectively, both verbal and in writing.
  2. Ability to use tact and skill in dealing with diverse population groups.
  3. Skill in the use of a personal computer and various application programs
  4. Supervisory skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in business management or a related discipline. Minimum of six (6) years of experience in inventory management. C.P.I.M. or a related certification preferred. Minimum of four (4) years of supervisory experience in development, motivating, conducting performance appraisals and assignments, and monitoring of goals and objectives.
