Lead Service Technician - HVAC in Addison, Illinois at March Equipment LLC

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Service Technician – HVAC to join our team. This role involves evaluating, repairing and maintaining cold storage equipment and ice machines, as well as testing and setting up compressors for walk-in cooler systems. The ideal candidate will ensure all service requests are completed promptly within company service level agreements (SLAs) and maintain the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate the condition of cold storage restaurant equipment and ice machines to determine repairability.
• Perform necessary repairs on equipment or discard equipment that is deemed irreparable.
• Test and set up compressors on walk-in cooler systems to ensure optimal functionality.
• Complete service requests on refurbished products within the company's SLA timeline.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment effectively to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Adhere to company protocols, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing HVAC and refrigeration equipment
• Industry knowledge and the ability to operate a mobile device for service documentation and communication
• 5 years of prior work experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or related field is preferred
• Welding skills are a plus, but not required
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working in varying conditions, including confined spaces and outdoor environments
• Capable of standing, bending, and climbing for extended periods
