Job Description

Job Purpose

A manufacturing coordinator works to ensure that production schedules are met and shipments to customers are completed on time. The coordinator works with planning, purchasing, production and shipping to expedite product through the manufacturing organization.

Manufacturing coordinators must be organized and practice time management to stay on top of production schedules and work well with all team members.

Duties and Responsibilities

/ Determines the work schedule based on customer orders and the availability of raw materials and production capacity.

/ Coordinators work with purchasing to ensure that production materials are available and adjust the schedule when necessary.

/ Raw Material: Establish that raw material is in stock or work with purchasing to order. Work with purchasing to maintain minimum stock levels of commonly used raw materials.

/ Scheduling: work with Sales and other functional groups to establish priorities, capacity and job schedules.

/ Document control: For each Production Order, ensure that correct job travelers and manufacturing drawings are printed. Ensure that document package is delivered to first step of operations. At completion of job, ensure that traveler has been correctly filled out, scanned and filed. Ensure that the correct revisions of manufacturing drawings are used at all times.

/ Expediting: ensure efficient movement of work in process. Expedite jobs as appropriate.

/ Kitting of Assembly jobs: work with receiving to kit multiple parts to complex assembly jobs.

/ Perform inspection of incoming and outgoing products.

/ Perform audits to verify compliance with policies, procedures, and practices. Identifies corrective action to be taken to resolve issues from audits.

/ Other jobs as needed to benefit the manufacturing team.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

/ Versatile and willing to help the manufacturing team while also putting safety as a top priority.

/ Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external customers.

/ Exceptional organization and planning skills with attention to detail.

/ Ability to be proactive and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

/ Detail-orientated with ability to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.

/ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

/ Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education and Experience

/ Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or minimum two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

/ Proficiency using ERP/MRP systems.

/ Knowledge of Quality Control Inspection.

/ Able to drive forklifts
