About the Role:

APCON is a leading manufacturer and provider of network visibility solutions, empowering organizations to monitor and manage their network traffic efficiently. We are actively seeking a dynamic and resourceful Purchasing Manager to enhance our procurement processes. The position involves proactively managing supplier and vendor connections and reducing inventory and supply chain challenges.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise all purchasing operations and act as the point of contact with suppliers and vendors.
  • Strategically analyzing data and forecasting future trends while making informed decisions to evaluate, choose, research, source, and manage suppliers based on quality and cost.
  • Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
  • Align purchasing activities with company goals and operational needs by working closely with other departments to meet demand requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with product standards and specifications.
  • Develop plans and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to reduce lead times and improve product availability.
  • Review purchase orders and bid requests, for quotes while overseeing supplier relationships performance evaluation.
  • Monitor inventory levels for surplus stock by conducting inventory counts when necessary.
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Approve sensitive purchasing transactions, manage high-dollar or minimum buys, and oversee invoice processing to ensure timely payments.
  • Oversees warehouse inventory, shipping, and receiving functions.
  • Provide regular reports to senior leadership on purchasing performance, supplier relationships, inventory status, and cost-saving initiatives to support decision-making.
Qualifications Required:
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles with a preference for experience in a manufacturing setting or related domain.
  • Demonstrated success in supplier management and negotiation.
  • Strong skills in analysis and strategic planning.
  • Deep understanding of supply chain processes, inventory control, and logistics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite ERP(Sage) and MRP(Mysis) or any similar software.
Education:
  • A bachelor’s degree, in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
