Position Description: Prevention Principal

Reports To: Chief Prevention Officer

FLSA Status: Salaried, Exempt

Commitment Type: Full-time, On-going

Work Environment: Hybrid, 3 days a week in office required

Description: Under the supervision of the Chief Prevention Officer and in alignment with the strategic plan of the organization, the Prevention Principal is responsible for supporting the identification and development of high-impact, evidence-informed strategies for the primary prevention of child sexual abuse. The Prevention Principal will provide support for research and analysis, support a portfolio of initiatives and projects, and develop content and messages to support child sexual abuse prevention and the expert response to crimes against children.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of child sexual abuse prevention strategies, programs, and opportunities.
  • Develop content, such as white papers, reports, summaries, presentations, and other written materials and messages to communicate with a variety of audiences regarding research, strategies, and programs related to child sexual abuse prevention and response.
  • Support the development of multi-year strategic plans and timelines and identify resource needs to execute identified strategies.
  • Manage complex projects, including, but not limited to, research projects, pilot programs and contracts with vendors and/or consultants.
  • In partnership with CACTX team members and others, identify evaluation and data collection needs that will help CACTX establish necessary baselines and measure impact over the long-term.
  • Create resources, guidance, and other materials to support implementation of key organizational strategies.
  • Support the development and maintenance of a comprehensive and ongoing landscape assessment of the child sexual abuse prevention ecosystem.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on high-impact, evidence-informed strategies for the prevention of child sexual abuse and the response to crimes against children and collaborate with team members, local CACs, and other key stakeholders on projects and initiatives that fall within the scope of the Principal’s areas of expertise.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to distill complex information concisely for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Meaningful knowledge of or experience with the children’s advocacy center model, child sexual abuse prevention, and/or the public health model for prevention.
  • Meaningful knowledge or experience navigating and partnering with evaluation and research partners and institutions.
  • Ability to discern and prioritize organizational impact when conducting business.
  • Ability to oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously, work independently under tight deadlines, prioritize responsibilities, and identify and resolve conflict in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Ability to conduct presentations and facilitate groups in a variety of subject matter areas.
  • Desire to work within a fast-paced, change-oriented, optimistic, “fail-forward” culture and professional environment.
