Sandwich Associate at Citarella – Bronx, New York

Role Overview

The primary responsibility is to prepare and produce sandwiches and other food products as needed for kitchen production. This includes washing, peeling, and slicing vegetables/meat and other items prepared in the kitchen.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

· Slice, peel and prepare food items for daily sandwich order and kitchen preparation

· Slice cold meats and cheese by hand or machine

· Prepare and produce sandwiches and various food products

· Cook, mix, and season ingredients to make dressings, fillings, and spreads.

· Wash work table and cutting block to ensure food station is sanitized

· Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in the correct uniform.

· In addition, other reasonably assigned duties may be required as directed by your manager.

Minimum Requirements:

· Prior experience in a culinary environment preferred

· Ability to handle knife

· Able to work in a team environment

· Follow sanitary and safety guidelines

Additional Requirements:

· Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing for extended periods of time in refrigerated work areas

· Lifting loads of up to 25 lbs

· Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

· Ability to read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions, conduct business related mathematics and analyze data as required.
