The Opportunity
Riley Blake Designs is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Accountant to join our accounting team in Lehi, Utah. You will work in a dual-capacity role, supporting Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, along with other assigned tasks. This role is essential to maintaining the accuracy of our financial records and supporting our month-end closing process. You will report to our Controller (CPA), work closely with the AR and AP managers, gain valuable hands-on experience across critical accounting functions, and support various strategic projects.
Key Responsibilities
The accountant will assist in core accounting functions, including but not limited to:
• Accounts Receivable (AR):
o Posting customer payments
o Assisting with cash application
o Take ownership of declined transactions; investigate root causes, reach out to customers, and resolve billing discrepancies.
o Generate weekly and monthly AR aging and customer hold reports for leadership, highlighting risks or significant delinquent accounts.
o Assist in the approval process of terms for customers

• Accounts Payable (AP):
o Oversee the daily AP pipeline, ensuring timely invoice processing and accurate coding
o Manage the MineralTree workflow, including attaching invoices and routing for approvals
o Perform 3-way matching for received Purchase Orders (POs)
o Onboard new vendors and verify banking/payment information to ensure compliance, including collections of W9’s
o Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals for received but unpaid inventory and prepaid adjustments.

o Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with company policies, and support audit requests.
o Identify opportunities for process improvements
o Participate in process improvements and ad-hoc projects as assigned

• Qualifications and Skills
• 1-3 years of accounting experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field OR equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, finance principles, and financial reporting.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for conducting collection calls and resolving billing disputes effectively while maintaining positive customer relationships.
• Ability to work effectively as a supportive team member in a collaborative environment.
• Willingness to learn new software, systems, and accounting concepts quickly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, Oracle, or similar)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Report directly to a CPA Controller, providing clear career development paths and the necessary supervision to fulfill the CPA work experience requirement.
