Job Description
Position Description: Position Summary:
Assures that each production machine has an adequate supply of materials for the appropriate job.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Refers to written and verbal instructions / schedule to set up material for jobs at each machine.
- Transports material for each job to production area:
- Uses material handling equipment to transport material from staging area to appropriate line for each job.
- Monitors stock levels in production area and restocks as necessary. Maintains supply of mailbags and trays at each workstation.
- Moves completed trays of mail on skid.
- Verifies accuracy of code and counts the number of trays on each skid and moves skid to postal area.
- Returns materials for each completed job to the warehouse in a timely and orderly manner.
- Maintains neat and clean appearance in the production area by baling empty waste boxes, emptying trash cans, and keeping aisles clear at all times. Keeps all banding, string, tape and broken skid boards off the floor.
- Works with the other Material Handlers to assure that all material handling equipment is in good, safe working order.
- Regular and predictable attendance required, including the ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Keep area organized, safe, and efficient.
- Perform job duties in accordance with all federal, state, local, and company safety rules.
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists other departments as necessary.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designated representative.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of mailing . Ability to interpret barcodes for quality control purposes. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Works well with others.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform the essential duties of this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED is required, and six (6) months of material handling related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration and percent, and to interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

Employee is required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required for this job include the ability to accurately determine color, close vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
Employee will have availability to work overtime, irregular hours, and weekends as needed. Attendance must be regular and predictable.
