Job Title: Director, Content and Digital Engagement
Department/Area: Content Studio
Reporting Relationship: Vice President, Content and Experience
Employees Supervised:3 full-time
Full/part time: Full Time
FLSA Status & pay grade: Exempt D
POSITION PURPOSE:
Position directs the day-to-day operations of the Indiana Historical Society’s (IHS) content studio
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Wrist & Visual Stamina – Ability to type and focus on a computer screen for prolonged periods of time
Physical Movement – Bending, Kneeling, and Crouching In order to reach & pick up items, standing for long periods of time
(Incumbent must be able to meet physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations. Reasonability of requested accommodation is to be determined by IHS on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with the ADA.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years of applicable experience

POSITION PURPOSE:
Position directs the day-to-day operations of the Indiana Historical Society’s (IHS) content studio
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and manage editorial calendar
- Establish content standards for voice, tone, accuracy, accessibility, rights, style, metadata, review, and reuse
- Lead topic selection for recurring short-form content, podcast pilots, and exhibit-linked stories
- Work cross departmentally to maximize use and value add of digital content
- Ensure content is accurate, sourced, inclusive, accessible, and editorially responsible
- Track and report performance indicators
- Perform other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated experience leading content strategy, editorial planning, digital storytelling, media production, audience engagement, or a closely related function
- Ability to translate complex or scholarly material into clear, engaging public storytelling
- Comfort working across video, audio, written, web, social, email, and/or digital content formats
- Ability to bring multiple contributors together under common goal and bring projects to completion
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to accuracy, accessibility, inclusion, and responsible storytelling
