Essential Responsibilities

Objectives of this Role

Set the standard:

  • This role may require a small workload of creative work, while still managing and overseeing the rest of the team. The primary focus, however, is to lead and manage the team.
  • Implement processes and procedures to ensure structure, organization, and streamlined workflow.
  • High aptitude for prioritization and re-prioritization; workflow management and delegating workloads across team members based on skill level and scope of work is mandatory.
  • Coach and lead weak performers to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
  • Ability to adopt companies’ creative philosophies and vision and convert that into client merchandise we design.
  • Implement new materials, print methods. Be knowledgeable on current styles and execution methods.

Drive client vision:

  • Ability to create unique art for current/new client presentations with or without a brief.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and proactively dedicated to team success, and displays an eagerness to take on new challenges and additional responsibilities.
  • Supports interdepartmental relationships and a positive work environment
  • Strong understanding of how certain design decisions or decoration methods impact cost as well as feasibility in production.
  • Proven and solid understanding of brand marketing (i.e., positioning, identity, consumer insight, comms strategies) and how to leverage that understanding to build more powerful executions.
  • Produce fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling print materials and digital experiences for sophisticated audiences.
  • Create, collaborate on, and oversee final concepts, as well as present work to clients; address feedback and approval.

Lead the creative process:

  • Provide leadership and direction.
  • Participate in strategic kickoffs and creative reviews.
  • Bring creative thinking and art direction to brand projects using well-developed concepts and execution.

Manage projects:

  • Adaptability is a must, as well as the ability to accept and implement feedback effectively.
  • Comfortable and open to collaborating with other department heads to make this the very best company possible.
  • Manage, motivate and develop a creative team.
  • Develop training, education and development of the team.
  • Head creative presentation of ideas to client.
  • Advise clients on all technical visual recommendations and/or issues
  • Assess and improve processes and procedures.
Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design or related field

Requirements

  • 5 years minimum experience as a creative director and managing a team
  • 5+ years working in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and 3D programs such as Blender or 3DS Max.
  • 3+ years working on creative merchandise, apparel, promotional items
  • Strong project management skills.

Qualifications

  • Creative thinker, detail-oriented, budget-conscious and deadline-driven
  • Excellent skills in communication, team management and design direction
  • Experience in a breadth of creative areas, including copywriting, print, digital, social, web and video
  • Agency experience strongly desired
  • Ability to manage multiple people, projects and resources
  • Experience leading and supervising a creative group
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills that inspire and drive creative excellence
  • Strong client skills a must!

Location & Schedule

  • Midtown, Atlanta, GA
  • Hybrid Schedule: 3 days in-office / 2 days remote. This position requires regular attendance in our Midtown Atlanta office three days per week; therefore, candidates must reside within the state of Georgia.
  • Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
