Fan Zone Attendant in Fort Wayne, Indiana at Ruoff Mortgage Stadium

Position Summary

The Fan Zone Attendant supervises children in the Fan Zone during Fort Wayne FC games and other events at Ruoff Mortgage Stadium, maintaining a safe, structured, and welcoming environment. This role includes direct oversight of bounce houses and other Fan Zone activities. The Fan Zone Attendant is responsible for enforcing age restrictions, capacity limits, and posted rules; verifying parent/guardian presence through wristband checks; and confirming that required liability waivers have been signed before admitting children.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor children in the Fan Zone at all times, with particular attention to bounce house use, to ensure their safety and compliance with posted rules and age restrictions.
• Collect and verify signed liability waivers from parents/guardians before admitting children to the Fan Zone or permitting bounce house use.
• Enforce maximum capacity limits, age and height restrictions, and safe loading and use of bounce houses to prevent overcrowding and maintain a safe environment.
• Greet children and families in a warm, friendly, and professional manner to promote a positive gameday experience.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free Fan Zone throughout the event. Regularly monitor bounce house equipment for signs of wear, damage, shifting, or other safety concerns and report issues promptly.
• Respond calmly and appropriately to disputes, minor injuries, or behavioral concerns involving children, escalating situations to the Stadium Events team or Guest Services as needed.

• Comfort and experience working with children in a group or recreational setting.
• Strong attentiveness and situational awareness, particularly when supervising active play equipment such as bounce houses.
• Clear, friendly, and professional communication skills when interacting with children, parents, and guardians.
• Dependability and punctuality, with the ability to consistently report for scheduled event shifts.
• Ability to remain calm, use good judgment, and respond appropriately to minor conflicts, injuries, or unexpected situations.
• A positive, friendly attitude and commitment to creating a safe and enjoyable experience for children and families.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Prior experience in childcare, babysitting, teaching, coaching, or a similar setting is preferred but not required.
• Ability to consistently follow written and verbal instructions, safety procedures, and event-day policies.
• Patient, nurturing, and dependable demeanor with a genuine interest in working with children.
• Ability to remain alert, engaged, and attentive throughout the entire event shift, including the ability to work while standing and in varying outdoor stadium conditions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods. Ability to sit or kneel at ground level to engage with children and monitor bounce house entrances and exits. Ability to lift or assist children weighing up to 40 pounds as needed. Ability to move quickly and appropriately when responding to a child's safety needs.

Work Environment: The position is primarily located in the outdoor Fan Zone area at Ruoff Mortgage Stadium. The role involves exposure to varying weather conditions, including sun and heat, as well as gameday noise typical of an active event environment. Regular interaction with children, parents, and guardians is expected throughout the shift.
