Director Sales Industrial Measurement and Control (IMC)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director Sales – Industrial Measurement and Control (IMC) based in the United States.

This senior commercial leadership role is responsible for driving profitable growth across a broad industrial measurement and control portfolio.
You will shape and execute sales strategies spanning field instruments, process instruments, modular systems, and terminals.
The position combines revenue ownership, operating income accountability, strategic account management, and channel development.
You will lead a team of approximately 6–10 sales professionals while partnering closely with marketing, product, operations, and manufacturing teams.
Success will depend on using market intelligence, pipeline analytics, and disciplined CRM practices to identify opportunities and improve performance.
The role offers significant visibility within a North American leadership organization and the opportunity to influence go-to-market strategy at scale.
This is a fully remote position with approximately 50% travel across the United States and Canada.

Accountabilities
  • Develop and execute the sales strategy for the Industrial Measurement and Control portfolio in alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 6–10 direct reports, establishing clear expectations and driving accountability for results.
  • Own revenue and operating income performance across the assigned business lines, with responsibility for achieving and exceeding financial targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers, key stakeholders, industry partners, and channel organizations.
  • Develop and optimize go-to-market strategies, including partner, distributor, and channel approaches designed to accelerate profitable growth.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive dynamics, customer needs, and new commercial opportunities.
  • Provide disciplined oversight of the sales pipeline, using CRM data and performance analytics to develop forecasts, identify risks, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, performance reports, and data-driven recommendations, adjusting commercial strategies as business conditions evolve.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, operations, and manufacturing teams to align customer demand, production capacity, delivery schedules, and revenue expectations.
  • Manage sales budgets and initiatives with a strong focus on profitability and return on investment.
  • Represent the business at industry conferences, customer meetings, and other strategic events.
  • Contribute to broader leadership priorities and cross-functional initiatives that strengthen market position and long-term commercial performance.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of sales leadership experience, preferably within B2B and/or channel sales environments, with demonstrated responsibility for commercial performance.
  • Proven experience in the Industrial Automation industry, with strong familiarity with industrial measurement, controls, instrumentation, or closely related technologies.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing sales teams, inspiring high performance, and establishing a culture of accountability.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end sales process, customer relationship management, channel development, forecasting, and pipeline management.
  • Track record of achieving or exceeding revenue and profitability targets.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret market trends, sales data, and pipeline information and translate insights into commercial action.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, partners, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills, combined with the ability to execute effectively in a complex industrial environment.
  • Ability to build productive relationships across functions and align sales priorities with product, marketing, operations, and manufacturing objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred; an MBA is an additional advantage.
  • Experience with similar industrial products and technologies is highly valued.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% across the United States and Canada.
  • Must meet applicable U.S. export-control requirements and qualify as a U.S. Person, or be eligible to obtain the required export authorization.
