This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Specialist, Professional Development Design, ASI based in the United States.
This fixed-term role is focused on designing high-quality professional learning experiences for PreK–12 educators.
You’ll combine expertise in teaching, coaching, professional development, assessment, and intervention to create impactful learning solutions.
The role spans instructor-led training, virtual workshops, eLearning, videos, toolkits, webpages, and other digital resources.
You’ll collaborate across teams to align professional development with evolving products, educator needs, and customer priorities.
A strong focus on user experience, adult learning, accessibility, and practical application will shape your work.
You’ll use participant and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve content, delivery methods, and learning outcomes.

- Support the planning and execution of professional development projects, including timelines, deliverables, documentation, milestones, and project reporting.
- Identify project risks, challenges, and barriers, recommend solutions, and communicate progress and outcomes to team leadership.
- Maintain consistent quality across professional development deliverables while following established standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain deep expertise in literacy assessment, supplemental learning, and intervention products, ensuring professional development remains aligned with product updates and educator needs.
- Develop engaging professional learning experiences across formats, including instructor-led sessions, virtual workshops, eLearning modules, webpages, toolkits, videos, animations, simulations, and other digital resources.
- Design and facilitate interactive virtual and online learning experiences that support practical application and accommodate diverse educator needs.
- Customize professional development materials to reflect customer requirements, business priorities, and relevant educational contexts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver effective training programs, incorporating stakeholder input throughout the design process.
- Gather, analyze, and act on feedback from participants, stakeholders, and internal teams to continuously improve learning content and delivery.
- Establish structured feedback loops that connect learner insights and business objectives to ongoing professional development improvements.
- Stay current on professional learning trends, instructional design practices, technologies, and industry best practices, incorporating relevant innovations into learning solutions.
- Participate in team meetings, working groups, projects, and other initiatives while adapting to emerging priorities and organizational needs.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of PreK–12 classroom teaching experience.
- At least 2 years of experience designing and facilitating professional development for PreK–12 educators, both in person and online, preferably at scale.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and demonstrated ability to apply them when designing and delivering learning experiences for adults.
- Experience teaching with, implementing, or facilitating professional development involving mCLASS DIBELS 8th Edition or Lectura programs.
- Strong knowledge of high-quality literacy instruction and assessment practices grounded in the Science of Reading.
- Demonstrated proficiency in instructional design and visual design.
- Experience with Google Slides, video editing software, online course authoring tools such as Easygenerator, Adobe Acrobat, and Photoshop.
- Strong technology skills, including proficiency with Google applications and video conferencing platforms such as Google Meet and Zoom.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
- Strong user-centered mindset, with the ability to design practical, accessible, and scalable solutions for educators and professional learning teams.
- Ability to balance high-quality content with the unique contexts in which educators and school systems operate, including state and district priorities and diverse learner needs.
- Strong collaborative and communication skills, with a willingness to seek input and work effectively across functions.
- Principle-driven approach to decision-making, combined with creativity and an ability to identify solutions beyond conventional either/or choices.
- Growth mindset, adaptability, and willingness to continuously develop professional and technical expertise.
- Experience facilitating professional development sessions for the organization’s products is preferred.
- Experience supporting diverse student populations, including English Language Learners, students with disabilities, and gifted or talented students, is preferred.
- Compensation: $75,000–$95,000 annually.
