Accounting Associate

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Accounting Associate based in the United States.

This is a hands-on accounting and finance role supporting essential day-to-day financial operations within a fast-growing organization.
You’ll take ownership of key processes across accounts payable, sales tax compliance, and monthly close activities.
The role offers an opportunity to apply strong accounting fundamentals while solving problems and improving operational workflows.
You’ll work independently while collaborating with internal teams and external accounting and tax professionals.
As the organization scales, you’ll help introduce greater structure, efficiency, and consistency across its finance operations.
The ideal environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and comfortable with initiative, ownership, and thoughtful process improvement.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while growing your accounting expertise in a dynamic technology-driven setting.

Accountabilities
  • Support the full accounts payable process, including vendor onboarding, invoice review, payment processing, and AP reconciliations.
  • Manage state sales tax filings, ensuring submissions are accurate, complete, and delivered within required deadlines.
  • Coordinate sales tax registrations as the organization expands into new states and jurisdictions.
  • Support broader tax compliance by gathering, organizing, and providing financial information to external CPAs and tax advisors.
  • Assist with the monthly financial close, including account reconciliations, amortization, accruals, and related accounting activities.
  • Take ownership of assigned accounting processes, maintaining accuracy, consistency, and timely execution.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting controls, streamline workflows, and improve processes as the business scales.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams and contribute to building more scalable and structured finance operations.
Requirements
  • 3–6 years of relevant accounting or finance experience, with a strong foundation in core accounting principles.
  • At least 2 years of experience working within a high-growth organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately.
  • Demonstrated ownership and independence, with the confidence to make progress in an environment where processes may still be evolving.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, particularly when navigating ambiguity or fast-changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with tax compliance is preferred, particularly state sales tax processes and registrations.
  • Experience working within a technology startup or rapidly scaling organization is preferred.
  • Experience building or improving accounting processes and controls is a plus.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation: Estimated base salary of $90,000–$110,000, plus performance-based bonus opportunities.
  • Remote work: Fully remote position for candidates based in the United States.
  • Flexible benefits: Benefit plans are available for employees and eligible family members at no cost to employees.
  • Retirement savings: 401(k) plan with employer matching.
  • Growth opportunities: The chance to take ownership of important accounting processes and help build scalable finance operations.
  • Dynamic environment: Work in a fast-moving, technology-focused organization where initiative, collaboration, and process improvement are valued.
  • Inclusive workplace: A commitment to diversity, inclusion, equal opportunity, and professional growth.
