Employee Health Nurse in Munster, Indiana at Powers Health

POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Employee Health Nurse coordinates the employee occupational/worker’s comp program by developing protocols, reporting and record keeping. Assists with implementation of health and safety education programs in the workplace. Administers direct and indirect care to ill/injured employees and evaluates outcomes in an effort to provide a healthy, productive workforce. Maintains the Respirator Protection Program for hospital employees requiring respirator use while caring for patients.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Graduate of accredited nursing program (RN or LPN) with current Indiana Licensure, BS degree preferred.
• Current CPR required. TB certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of varied nursing experience, primarily nursing care areas such as public or community health, industrial/occupational nursing, or critical/emergent care
• Knowledge of adult educational principles.
• Must be computer savvy as all aspects of job are performed in various computer systems.
