Dispatcher in Columbus, Nebraska at Behlen Mfg Co.

• Coordinate deliveries to Behlen customers, ensuring on-time delivery
• Manage fleets at Behlen Mfg. locations
• Communicate internally and externally to optimize productivity
• Assist in the on-boarding of new drivers
• Maintain reports and documentation as needed
• Audit loaded trailers to ensure product can be delivered safely and damage free
• Negotiate rates with LTL carriers
• Oversee inbound and outbound LTL shipments to ensure optimal rates and performance
• Practice safe working habits and follow safety policy, procedures, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of DOT regulations
• Good communication skills and working with Team Partners and drivers in meeting customer needs
• Individual must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes weekends, holidays and hours that exceed the normal workweek when business levels demand. Also, occasional night calls and emergencies are standard with job position.
• 2-year degree or experience in transportation required
• Computer Skills
• Dispatch and/or driving experience preferred
