About the Role:

The Forklift Warehouse Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods within a wholesale trade warehouse environment. This position is responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials to designated storage or shipping areas, maintaining the flow of inventory and supporting overall warehouse operations. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and damage to products, equipment, and personnel. The Forklift Warehouse Driver collaborates closely with warehouse staff and management to optimize space utilization and inventory accuracy. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to meeting delivery schedules and maintaining high standards of operational efficiency within the warehouse.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid forklift operator certification or license in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, and inventory documentation.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Basic math skills to count and verify inventory quantities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a wholesale trade or distribution warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software.
  • Additional certifications related to warehouse safety or equipment operation.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move goods safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring that products are handled carefully to prevent damage.
  • Organize and stack inventory in designated storage locations according to company procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and assist with cycle counts and stock audits.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and warehouse protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with warehouse team members to coordinate daily tasks and meet operational goals.

The required skills enable the Forklift Warehouse Driver to operate equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring the smooth flow of goods throughout the warehouse. Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for accurately stacking and tracking inventory, which helps prevent errors and loss.
