At MPE, we're dedicated to making a difference in the world through cutting-edge medical technology. Our mission is to be the global leader in design, engineering, and manufacturing solutions for the medical and technology industries — creating impactful solutions that improve lives, and fostering an environment where our team members can thrive, grow, and contribute to groundbreaking advancements in the medical field.
A better career for you. Creating medical technology for all.
Why This Role
MPE is growing, and our finance team is right at the center of that growth. We're looking for a Senior Accountant who's ready to build real ownership early in their career — someone who wants more than data entry and closing checklists, and is excited to shape how we use automation, AI, and process improvement to modernize accounting operations.
This is a great fit for someone 1–3 years into their career — whether that's Big 4 audit experience, a mix of internships across audit/finance/credit/collections, or early accounting roles — who's looking for a place to grow into a broader accounting or finance leadership path. You'll get exposure across the full accounting function (GL, AR/AP, cash, cost accounting, audit) rather than being boxed into one lane, plus direct mentorship from our Controller.
What You'll DoClose & General Ledger
- Support month-end close, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and resolving discrepancies
- Help maintain the general ledger and catch/correct posting errors in our ERP (IFS)
AR, AP & Collections
- Support the invoicing and accounts payable process, helping ensure accuracy and timely payments
- Assist with collections efforts and help build better reporting to reduce overdue accounts
- Contribute to the quarterly analysis of the allowance for doubtful accounts
Cash & Reporting
- Help manage companywide cash and credit card reconciliations
- Support cash forecasting and financial statement preparation
- Pull together data on sales, production, and costs to help the team spot trends and opportunities
Process Improvement & Systems
- Work with the team to improve AR/AP workflows using Excel automation, IFS, and AI tools
- Bring fresh ideas to the table — we want people who see a manual process and think "there's a better way"
Cost Accounting & Compliance
- Support cost accounting activities like standard costing and inventory valuation
- Help prepare documentation for external audits and support internal controls
- Learn the ropes on key accounts like prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and lease liabilities, with room to take on more ownership over time
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3 years of relevant experience — Big 4 audit, internships in audit/finance/credit/collections, or early-career accounting roles all count
- Comfort with Excel; ERP experience (IFS or similar) a plus but not required
- Curiosity about how AI and automation can improve accounting workflows
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in learning the "why" behind the numbers, not just the "how"
- A collaborative mindset — you'll work closely with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service, not just sit behind a spreadsheet
- Medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance starting the first of the month after your hire date
- 401(k) match and profit sharing
- Vacation time from day one
- 9 paid holidays for regular full-time employees
- Paid training
