Monday - Friday 9:00am-3:00pm- 30 hours

• BARC is currently seeking professional, caring, and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) assisting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in our Greenhouse. If you love plants, gardening and a desire to make an impactful and meaningful difference in someone else's life this is the position for you. Applicants with no experience or a career change are encouraged to apply – we will train the right candidates.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least age 18.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record back 3 years, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

• Provide safe and nurturing environment where Individuals are treated with dignity, respect, can exercise their rights and responsibilities and are protected from abuse or neglect.
• Assist management team in identifying and providing opportunities for learning new skills and independence working with each individuals’ goals and plans.
• Electronically record daily activities maintaining confidentiality and complying with all policies and procedures to protect the identity, medical, HIPPA information.
• Provide daily care to greenhouse plants including, planting, transplanting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, controlling insects and disease, ventilating, and controlling weeds; manage plant nutrient levels.
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Provide customer support for our greenhouse patrons.
• Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Efforts:

• May include extended periods of standing, sitting, walking with occasional periods of stooping, crouching, kneeling.
• Positions may require the ability to independently lift at least 25 pounds.
