Software Licensing Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Licensing Specialist based in India.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Licensing Specialist to support global sales and delivery operations through accurate license management, renewals, and customer coordination.
The role will focus on managing the full software licensing lifecycle, from quote preparation and contract review to renewals and reporting.
You will collaborate with international teams across sales, finance, delivery, and vendor management to ensure smooth customer experiences.
This position offers the opportunity to build expertise in SaaS operations, enterprise software ecosystems, and subscription-based business models.
You will contribute to improving processes, maintaining high-quality data, and supporting revenue growth through effective licensing operations.

Accountabilities:

The Software Licensing Specialist will be responsible for ensuring efficient licensing operations, maintaining accurate records, and supporting customer and internal stakeholders throughout the software lifecycle.

  • Manage the complete software licensing and maintenance renewal lifecycle, ensuring timely execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and maintain software licensing quotes for new purchases, renewals, upgrades, and cross-grades using CRM platforms, service management tools, vendor portals, and spreadsheets.
  • Review customer contracts, licensing entitlements, renewal history, and software requirements to ensure accurate quotations and compliance.
  • Manage licensing requests, renewal opportunities, and purchase orders while prioritizing tasks according to business needs and service expectations.
  • Act as a key contact for licensing and renewal-related inquiries, providing responsive support throughout the customer journey.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Professional Services, Finance, Accounts Receivable, Delivery teams, and software vendors to support business operations.
  • Identify renewal, expansion, cross-sell, and upsell opportunities while partnering with sales teams to maximize customer value.
  • Maintain accurate customer, contract, licensing, and renewal information across business systems to ensure data integrity.
  • Create renewal pipeline reports, operational dashboards, and performance updates to support decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automate processes, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Work effectively with global stakeholders, certification providers, instructors, and cross-functional teams during US business hours (6:30 PM – 3:30 AM IST).
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting software licensing, renewals, sales operations, or customer success activities, with strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in Software Licensing, Software Renewals, Sales Operations, Sales Support, Customer Success, or Contract Administration.
  • Experience supporting B2B SaaS licensing, subscription renewals, or enterprise software solutions.
  • Experience preparing software licensing quotations and managing renewal pipelines.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across global teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Willingness to learn software products, licensing structures, vendor programs, and evolving SaaS models.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Salesforce automation, workflows, or CRM optimization.
  • Background in Sales Operations, Contract Administration, or software renewal management.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Jira, Jira Service Management, AWS Marketplace, Splunk, or Agile/DevOps tools.
  • Experience working with software vendors, channel partners, or technology providers.
  • Understanding of subscription-based SaaS business models.
