In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and evolution of backend systems supporting AI-driven workflows and digital products. You will collaborate with engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions while continuously improving technical practices.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend features and subsystems within an AI-powered platform.
• Make thoughtful technical decisions and communicate trade-offs clearly with engineering leadership and teammates.
• Build and improve backend services that integrate traditional software systems with AI-powered processing capabilities.
• Contribute to code reviews by providing constructive feedback and helping maintain high engineering standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on schedule while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance, scalability, and stability.
• Develop a strong understanding of how deterministic business rules and AI-based classification and matching systems work together.
• Work with AI-assisted technologies, including LLM and embedding-based solutions, to enhance backend capabilities.
• Take ownership of features and technical components from design through delivery.
• Support the growth of junior engineers through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem-solving.

The ideal candidate is a backend-focused software engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and is curious about the practical application of AI in software products. You bring strong engineering fundamentals, ownership, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a software developer, with significant backend development experience.
• Strong backend programming skills, ideally using Python, FastAPI, or similar web frameworks.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or comparable technologies.
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including testing, design patterns, and agile development practices.
• Experience independently owning and delivering software features or technical subsystems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through ambiguous technical challenges.
• Good communication skills and comfort collaborating with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Genuine interest in AI/ML-adjacent engineering and understanding how AI-powered systems interact with traditional backend architectures.
• Experience with LLM APIs, embedding technologies, or platforms such as Vertex AI, OpenAI, or similar solutions is considered an asset.
