We are located in Golden Valley, on the corner of Douglas Drive and Hwy 55, next to Hwy 100.

The Warehouse Lead will support the Distribution Supervisor by providing direction and support for daily tasks to other Warehouse Associates, mainly in receiving. The lead will also support daily work by performing the job duties of a Warehouse Associate routinely as needed.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Perform job duties of Warehouse Associates
    1. Proficiently perform all warehouse tasks that include shipping, receiving, picking, put away, loading, and inventory counts.
    2. Understand and follow warehouse processes, work instructions, and guidelines.
    3. Identify and resolve general problems concerning warehouse process and procedures related to picking, put away, loading, shipping, receiving, inventory, equipment, and materials.
    4. Maintain a clean and safe work area; oversee all warehouse housekeeping tasks.
    5. Assist in performing general maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
    6. Follow all quality and safety standards.
    7. May be asked to assist production as needed.
  2. Plan and organize tasks and staff to ensure safety, efficiency and accuracy.
    1. Identify issues that may lead to safety hazards, inaccurate inventory, and inefficiencies and take prompt corrective action to resolve such issues.
    2. Provide training and direction to employees to ensure processes and expectations are understood.
    3. Respond to questions and concerns from employees, maintain open communication and foster a positive work environment.
    4. Assist Supervisor by monitoring, auditing, and enforcing procedures related to safety, quality, accuracy, and productivity.
    5. Recommend continuous improvements to the department and workflow.
    6. Independently initiate approved improvements within the department.
    7. Assist in the documentation and development of SOP and work instructions.
  3. Use of Powered Machinery
    1. Operate powered machines to move materials around the warehouse including but not limited to sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, riding pallet jacks, scissor lifts, manual pallet jacks, compactors, stretch wrapping machines, etc.
  4. Other essential functions
    1. Continually look for ways to improve processes and systems to make them more efficient and effective.
    2. Comply with all company policies and procedures.
    3. Responsible for working safely at all times and providing a safe work environment for all employees.
    4. All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. High School diploma or GED preferred.
  2. Previous shipping, receiving, and/or warehouse experience.
  3. Previous Lead or Supervisory experience preferred.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead by example, communicate openly, motivate and support employees, and have a team approach toward work.
  5. Ability to regularly lift 20 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  6. Ability to perform measurements using rulers and tape measures and perform basic arithmetic.
  7. Ability to read, interpret and explain production and warehouse paperwork, work instructions and guidelines to a diverse workforce.
  8. Attention to detail.
  9. Ability to pass and maintain Forklift certification. Prior Forklift experience a must, stand up preferred.
  10. Basic level computer skills, experience using of MRP/ERP preferred.
  11. Ability to work with a diverse group of people.

Work Environment

  • Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, reach and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment (heated only).
  • Temperature fluctuations with dock doors opening and closing.

Salary Transparency

The pay range for this position is $25-27/hour. Please note that the higher end of the pay range is reserved for candidates with extensive experience and qualifications that exceed the requirements of the role. Most new hires typically start at the beginning of the pay range, with opportunities for growth and increases based on performance and tenure.
