Job Description
Summary: The Quality Technician performs hands-on inspection, testing, and calibration activities to ensure products and processes meet established quality standards. This role supports first article inspections, dimensional verification, calibration of measuring equipment, and collection of quality data for analysis. The technician assists engineers with test plans, trains operators on inspection techniques, and maintains compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Perform first article and in-process inspections using precision measurement tools; document results and tag nonconforming material.
- Conduct calibration of gauges and measuring equipment; maintain calibration schedules and records in compliance with company procedures.
- Assist in reliability and repeatability testing; collect and record data for statistical analysis.
- Support quality engineers in developing inspection standards and test plans.
- Train production personnel on proper inspection and measurement techniques.
- Prepare and maintain inspection documentation, calibration certificates, and quality logs.
- Participate in internal audits and support corrective actions as assigned.
- Use the following software/programs when performing this job: MAC-PAC, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, SAP, Salesforce, and CAQ.
Recommended Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical training in quality or metrology preferred.
- Minimum 6 months experience in inspection or calibration; manufacturing environment experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measurement tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
