Position Summary Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This is a part-time position which provides direct support to the daily operation of Palatka Municipal Airport through customer service and operations assistance. The primary responsibilities include supporting the Line Operations Assistant in maintaining administrative records to ensure operational requirements of the airport are met.
- Marshaling arriving aircraft and departing large aircraft in and out of parking area.
- Assisting passengers with baggage and ground transportation needs.
- Providing ground support to flight crews (including re-fueling of aircraft.
- Managing the fueling facility and mobile fuel service.
- Answering telephone calls.
- Conducting retail sales via cash, check or credit card.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of aircraft and airport operations and procedures preferred.
- Good communication skills and positive attitude when dealing with customers.
- Intermediate to advance working knowledge of automated systems including MSOffice, QuickBooks, and “Point of Sales” Credit Card machines preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Ability to clearly communicate information both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department personnel, management, tenants, consultants, and the general public.
- Ability to access, operate and maintain various software applications.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment, e.g., computer terminals, printers, copy machines, telephone systems, facsimile machines.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School graduate with six months experience in type of work described, or, equivalent combination of training/experience in a related field provided exposure to the knowledge, skills and abilities required of the job was gained.
- Florida Driver’s License
