Equipment Finance Syndications Credit Officer in MN Market preferred; Any Choice Bank Location, Minnesota at Choice Bank

The Equipment Finance Syndications (EFS) Credit Officer is responsible for critical components in onboarding syndication partners, vendor program management, and overall program end to end success. This includes participating in negotiations, assessing financial statements, evaluating origination strategies and monitoring portfolio performance. This role involves developing a credit risk model to facilitate automated credit decisions, evaluating credit worthiness, and overall managing portfolio performance. This role will ensure compliance with industry regulations along with overall team and platform development.

Responsibilities
Onboarding

• Participate in Program Agreement negotiations.
• Assess financial statements to determine the Partners financial strength and ability to stand behind reps and warrants provided in the Program Agreement.
• Evaluate Partners origination strategy including origination sources, and types of industries, assets, and finance structures used to conduct business.
• Understand partners credit philosophy and credit matrix as it pertains to primary industry and assets origination strategy.
• Review Partners portfolio performance including delinquencies, charge-offs, and recovery rates.
• Evaluate Partners collection procedures including repossession and remarketing process.
• Perform annual review of program performance.

Credit Analysis

• Evaluate creditworthiness of equipment financing transactions
• Help Identify credit criteria to manage risk.
• Assist in the development of a risk model attributes to measure risk.
• Determine credit grade and approve/decline transactions as appropriate.
• Identify, track and report on policy exceptions.

Portfolio Management

• Track and monitor portfolio performance and composition in whole and by partner.
• Manage concentration limits for policy exceptions, delinquencies, industry, asset, credit grade, etc.
• Assist in the management of collections activity including monthly collection calls and workout accounts.
• Assist in the development of monthly reporting requirements

Compliance

• Understanding of equipment finance industry and regulations as it pertains to Bank and non-Bank entities.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies.
• Complete internal and external compliance related activities to ensure compliance and overall mitigate risk to the organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 8-10+ years of relevant experience with requisite competencies.
• ELFA member with active participation.
• Salesforce experience
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Advanced knowledge of lending regulations, rules, and banking laws.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail.
• Ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Track record of effective leadership working in virtual team environment.
