Dockhand in Newport, Rhode Island at New York Yacht Club

Dockhand position is entry level waterfront position capable
of performing the following tasks:

· Assist members boarding and disembarking boats
at club docks.

· Handle lines for boats arriving and departing

· Perform routine housekeeping maintenance on
docks and adjoining shoreline

· General boat washing for fleet of race committee
boats

· Assist with raising and lowering of flags in
observance of colors

· Assist members in need with golf cart transport
to clubhouse

· Trash removal and restocking of ice chest

· Competence using marine VHF

· Assist members using dinghy dock

· Positive member interaction with emphasis on
delivering top notch service

NYYC will train returning dockhands with boat handling
experience to operate launch if they decide to pursue licensing.
