Job Description
We’re seeking compassionate and dependable Family Care Representative Temps to provide phone-based support to families during an emotionally difficult time. In this role, you will explain information, ask sensitive medical and personal-history questions, and guide families through the process with professionalism and care.
This position requires strong customer service skills, emotional steadiness, accuracy, and respect for confidential information. Full-time and part-time schedules are available, including nights and weekends. Paid training will be provided.
This is a six-month temporary assignment with the possibility of conversion to a regular full-time position based on performance and business needs.
Available Shifts
- Sunday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. CT
- Tuesday–Saturday, 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m. CT
Core Functions
- Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to time-sensitive communications from hospitals, medical examiners, justices of the peace, and other authorized organizations.
- Receive and screen referrals using established medical and eligibility criteria.
- Contact legal next of kin by telephone, explain the opportunity for tissue donation, answer questions, and obtain consent when the family chooses to proceed.
- Conduct and document detailed medical and personal-history interviews by telephone.
- Maintain accurate and complete case records and coordinate required follow-up.
- Protect confidential information and maintain professionalism throughout every interaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in a remote, customer-facing environment and discussing confidential and sensitive information by phone.
- Experience in healthcare, hospice, funeral services, social services, or emergency response is helpful.
