Job Description
This position is primarily remote; however, the employee may be required to report to the designated CBP office or other government-approved worksite as needed to support contract requirements, meetings, training, audits, or other business needs. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the designated CBP office and be able to report onsite when required.
Position Summary
The Sr. Program Analyst provides advanced financial data analysis, reporting, and technical support to the CBP Office of Finance. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating interactive tools and trackers for financial reporting and data analysis, supporting budget formulation and execution, and ensuring compliance with financial laws and regulations. The Sr. Program Analyst collaborates with stakeholders to deliver accurate, actionable financial insights and process improvements.
Essential Functions
- Develop, maintain, and update interactive tools and trackers for financial reporting and data analysis using advanced Microsoft Excel features (pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas, and data visualization tools).
- Ensure all tools are user-friendly, accurate, and updated according to financial reporting requirements.
- Perform data analysis and summarization to support budget formulation and execution processes.
- Provide technical assistance and analysis for budget formulation and financial transaction processing.
- Interpret and apply financial laws, regulations, and accounting principles to ensure compliance.
- Develop and maintain financial reports and data summaries for management and stakeholders.
- Communicate financial analysis and findings clearly in both written and verbal formats.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of finance and revenue operations.

OTHER ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Computer Skills: Proficiency with computers and ability to navigate/enter information into established databases and Microsoft Office products.
Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
Customer Service: Ability to address all customer inquiries with a pleasant and patient demeanor.
Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret information. Ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
Work Environment: When on site, work is performed in an office cubicle environment with low noise level.
Physical Demands: Employee will have consistent and direct visual contact with multiple computer monitors.
Other Demands: Must comply with all CBP security, training, and onboarding requirements.
