Mammography Technologist – RWJBarnabas Health
At RWJBarnabas Health, the Mammography Technologist performs a variety of routine and advanced mammography procedures that require independent judgment, technical skill, and a thorough understanding of breast imaging and the diagnostic process for breast disease.
A typical day for a Mammography Technologist may include:
• Correctly positioning patients for routine and diagnostic radiographic imaging of the breast
• Selecting appropriate exposure factors to produce optimal images in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards
• Assessing breast images for quality assurance based on American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines
• Assisting radiologists with interventional breast procedures and breast biopsies
• Maintaining infection control standards and departmental policies
• Performing daily quality control tests and maintaining mammography equipment
• Conducting routine and advanced mammography exams as required
• Performing Dexa scan procedures and general X-ray exams (preferred but not required)
• Applying knowledge of quality control standards for all mammography equipment
• Providing coverage at any RWJBarnabas Health imaging location as needed
• Demonstrating flexibility to train and work at other JW Breast Centers when required

To be considered for this Mammography Technologist opportunity, you must:
• Have a High School Diploma or GED
• Have completed an AMA-accredited School of Radiologic Technology program
• Maintain continuing education credits as required by ARRT, FDA/MQSA, and ACR
• Hold current ARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography
• Hold a valid New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist license
• Be compliant with all continuing education requirements for mammography
• Be certified in BLS
