This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Electrical Design Specialist based in India.
This is a short-term, fully remote opportunity for an experienced electrical engineering professional.
You will apply hands-on expertise to complex electrical design and system-level engineering challenges.
The role spans electrical systems, power distribution, protection, equipment sizing, and technical evaluation.
You’ll analyze real-world engineering requirements and assess design alternatives, trade-offs, and performance.
The work is highly technical and suited to professionals who enjoy independent problem-solving and expert evaluation.
You may contribute expertise across industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, renewable energy, and related applications.

- Develop, analyze, and evaluate electrical designs based on technical requirements, specifications, engineering standards, and system performance objectives.
- Design and review electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and components, including power and distribution systems, control panels, switchgear, and motor control systems.
- Interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, layouts, equipment specifications, and related technical documentation.
- Perform electrical engineering calculations such as load flow, voltage drop, short-circuit analysis, protection coordination, and equipment sizing.
- Evaluate design alternatives, engineering trade-offs, system performance, and potential technical risks or opportunities for improvement.
- Review and validate designs, calculations, assumptions, and engineering approaches to ensure alignment with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Apply practical industry experience to assess real-world electrical systems and provide technically sound recommendations and solutions.
- Review vendor drawings, equipment datasheets, technical submittals, and engineering designs where required.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with strong practical experience applying electrical engineering principles.
- Hands-on professional experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electrical Design Specialist, or in a closely related role.
- Strong understanding of electrical system design, power systems, electrical protection, power distribution, and engineering fundamentals.
- Practical experience with low- and medium-voltage systems, equipment sizing, and electrical system analysis.
- Experience designing or evaluating electrical systems in environments such as industrial facilities, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, renewable energy, building services, data centers, or energy storage.
- Experience with power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination, is preferred.
- Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, EPLAN, Revit, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Experience specifying transformers, switchgear, cables, motors, and protection equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of industrial automation, instrumentation, or control systems is beneficial.
- Familiarity with applicable electrical codes and standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical, technical problem-solving, and evaluation skills, with the ability to work independently and assess complex engineering challenges.
- Advanced degrees or professional engineering certifications are advantageous.
