Ultrasound Technologist II - PRN As Needed

Position Highlights
  • Work location: Texas Health Willow Park 101 Crown Pointe Blvd Willow Park, TX 76087
  • Work environment: Radiology Ultrasound Services
  • Work hours: PRN As Needed Variable Rotating Shifts and rotating weekends some on call

Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Willow Park, an integrated health campus owned and operated by Texas Health Resources, opened in eastern Parker County in January 2015 and features a freestanding emergency department, fitness center and three-story medical office building. Services include cardiac rehabilitation, behavioral health, physical therapy, laboratory services, advanced imaging and a chronic disease management program.

What you need:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Graduate of AMA approved/accredited Ultrasound Program (preferred)
  • Associate Degree (preferred)

2 years clinical experience in hospital radiology setting (preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Sonography and one additional modality Upon Hire Required Or
ARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers must have 2 certifications Upon Hire Required And
Other RVT or VT(RVS) as one modality if performing vascular sonography Upon Hire Required

Position Responsibilities A Texas Health Ultrasonographer II is responsible for explaining procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to and during exam, imaging correct anatomical area of interest and pathology according to department protocols, and performing complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations.

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Ultrasonographer II will
  • assist radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
  • correctly send and transfer images to PACS.
  • work in tandem with staff to ensure laser images from modality or PACS are printed as needed.
  • operate, care for and maintain equipment.
  • prepare room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies).
  • handle patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging.
