Job Description
The Edison Township Municipal Court is seeking to hire a qualified individual for the position of Deputy Municipal Court Administrator. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Municipal Court Administrator. Candidate must have excellent customer service and oral/written communication skills, a strong work ethic, and be a motivated self-starter. Must also be able to assist with supervising staff and performing financial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions related to the operation of a municipal court.
Applicants should have experience in all aspects of court administration, including a strong working knowledge of caseflow management, Criminal Justice Reform, ATS/ACS and eMACS/PCSAM computer systems, Page Center, Reports On Demand, eCDR, and eCourts. Virtual Court experience is preferred. Experience supervising staff and knowledge of court financial records and reconciliation of the court's general and bail accounts are a plus.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, accepting payments/bail processing; determinations of Probable Cause; complaint processing; performing and/or assisting with monthly bank reconciliations; responding to public inquiries; providing information to attorneys, defendants and other governmental agencies; preparing and reviewing daily, weekly and monthly reports; drafting correspondence; performing data entry; managing/overseeing municipal court staff; responding promptly to Division inquires; and providing quality customer service. Perform related duties as required.
Selected candidate must maintain the integrity of the Judiciary and comply with the New Jersey Rules of Court, Policies and Directives, Supreme Court Directives and laws, established policies, including the Judiciary Code of Conduct, and procedures governing the operation of the Municipal Courts.
Applicants must have Municipal Court Experience (2 years minimum is preferred). Candidates who are not accredited by the Municipal Court Administrator Certification Board must be willing to obtain full accreditation within three (3) years of hire, as set forth in Rule 1:41-3.

In accordance with the New Jersey Pay and Benefits Transparency Law, (N.J.S.A. 34:6B-23), the salary for this position is established pursuant to the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and is not negotiable. The current salary is $47,464.00. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and enrollment into the NJ Pension System.
