Description:

General Description of the Position:

The Director of Accounting at Tatum Psychology Employment Group is responsible for overseeing the daily financial operations of TPEG’s multi-entity behavioral health organization.

The Director of Accounting responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements at all levels of assurance. The Director of Accounting will work with the CFO to present financial statements aligned with GAAP standards and other relevant standards. Director of Accounting oversee and improve accounting systems, lead month-end close processes, conduct and oversee reconciliations, help produce annual budgets and monitor budget performance, and foster financial literacy across teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Accounting System Management

  • Oversee and maintain the integrity of the accounting systems across multiple entities and practices.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial close accounting in accordance with GAAP and industry best practices meeting daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines.
  • Implement and manage accounting software and system upgrades as necessary.

2. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare month-end accruals and journal entries
  • Consolidate and eliminate multiple sets of financial reports
  • Enjoin various operational data points to financial statements
  • Help track KPIs and perform ratio analysis
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness financial statement close
  • Develop and maintain processes that provide insights into root cause to budget variance gaps.
  • Meet bank reporting requirements on monthly, quarterly and annual basis

3. Balance Sheet Reconciliation

  • Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain documentation and support for all balance sheet accounts.

4. Audit Preparation, Compliance, and Internal Controls

  • Coordinate and manage all external audit activities under general supervision of the CFO
  • Coordinate and manage annual tax filings and other tax issues as they arise.
  • Ensure the organization is audit-ready by maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
  • Work with the CFO to develop and implement internal controls to ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
  • Lead technical accounting, including complex matters such as equity, leases, capitalization, goodwill and intangibles
  • Take point on finance integration for mergers and acquisitions

5. Budget Variance and Financial Literacy

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets to upload into accounting software systems.
  • Monitor budget variances and provide analysis to the program management team.
  • Support financial performance of management team with insights and economic analysis of company value chain and activities.

6. Team Leadership Development

  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department and program partners.
  • Ensure team members adhere to established accounting practices and company policies

Additional Functions:

1. Performs other duties as may be assigned.

2. Follows and supports TPEG policies and procedures.

3. Works collaboratively and cooperatively with internal and external partners.

4. Represents TPEG, Inc., by embodying the mission, vision and values of the organization.

Workday and on occasional overnight stay. (Compensation for mileage, food and lodging provided.)

6. Maintains regular attendance at work and company activities and demonstrates punctuality regarding deadlines.

7. Displays creativity and vision in recommending new tactics and strategies.

8. Expands and updates job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional learning.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field.

2. RELATED EXPERIENCE: Seven (7) years of progressive accounting experience

3. SKILLS: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

4. OTHER EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and integrity on the job with confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.

• Demonstrated ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner with attention to detail.

• Proficiency in word processing and database and/or spreadsheet applications.

• Physical and mental attributes sufficient to perform essential functions.

• Valid Driver's License

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree required

2. CPA, CMA, CIA, CGMA or other relevant licensure

3. Experience with financial consolidation/elimination in a matrixed environment

4. 3 years of public accounting experience

5. 2 years of managing accounting engagements or accounting professionals

6. Proficient in English Language

7. Proficient communicator
