NDT Engineer – Etch & FPI _ L3

Position Summary
NDT engineer – Level 3 has technical ownership of chemical etch and FPI lines for inspecting products for various customers while supporting Hanwha Materials Savannah to achieve established processing and financial targets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Responsible for every aspect of the etch and FPI lines
- Responsible for the compliance of the etch and FPI lines with the NADCAP and OEM requirements
- Responsible for NADCAP audit and maintaining the NADACP qualification.
- Responsible for OEM audit and maintaining the OEM qualification
- Write necessary process procedures, working instruction and technique cards
- Train and certify inspector level 2 and level 1, and engineering and quality team as needed.
- Develop etch and FPI process for various parts
- Evaluate and approve the process qualification reports.
- Certify part qualification and conformance report.
- Assist in establishing etch and FPI lines
- Assist in troubleshooting part nonconformance
- Supports operations and engineering with technical guidance associated with inspection.
- Develop, oversee and control budgets associated with inspection
- Initiate and control cost reduction projects to achieve targets established by the business unit.
- Participate in part development projects as required.
- Implement and participate actively in root cause analysis and corrective action during
- Communicate regularly with the engineering management on status and risks
- Any other tasks required by the engineering director.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in a technical field (Metallurgy, Material Science, Mechanical or other relevant engineering field) from an accredited institution.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in etch and FPI inspection of various aerospace and non-aerospace parts.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a level 3 in etch and FPI.
- Experienced with working knowledge of Quality systems and various aerospace and specifications.
- Knowledge and understanding of various NDT methods.
- Knowledge and understanding of materials and processes (casting, forging) and manufacturing used in jet engines, and requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to interface with people of diverse engineering disciplines.
- Excellent communication skills, including technical writing.

- Language skills – Must have excellent communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management and/or various groups.
- Mathematical Skills – Ability to perform math supporting engineering decisions. Ability to interpret graphs and analyze temperature data and Gantt charts.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills – Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
