SUMMARY: The Center for Digital Equity (CDE) at Queens University of Charlotte seeks an organized and dependable Operations Coordinator to support daily operations, inventory management, equipment distribution, and event logistics. This role is responsible for ensuring technology, supplies, and operational resources are organized, accurate, and ready to support CDE programs and community partnerships.
The Operations Coordinator manages inventory processes, prepares and distributes technology and event equipment, and provides logistical support for meetings and community events. Working closely with CDE staff, this position helps anticipate operational needs and ensures resources are available when and where they are needed.
This is a hands-on role that requires regular lifting and moving of equipment and supplies, as well as driving the CDE vehicle throughout the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region. Occasional early morning, evening, and weekend availability is required to support community events.
This part-time position reports to the Director of Operations and averages approximately 20 hours per week, generally between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work. The position is primarily based at the CDE Hub on the Queens University campus and requires regular in-person availability.
This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is eligible for overtime pay or compensatory time off. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inventory and Operations
- Manage, organize, and track inventory, including event supplies, office materials, staff workstations, and portable computer and iPad labs.
- Maintain and improve inventory management processes, including documentation, staff training, and process enhancements.
- Prepare, pack, deploy, and replenish event kits and equipment.
- Configure and prepare computers and other devices for distribution.
- Drive the CDE sprinter van to transport devices, equipment, and supplies to community partners and event locations throughout the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region.
- Maintain inventory and supplies stored in the CDE vehicle and ensure the vehicle is organized and operationally ready.
- Follow established procedures for secure device handling, data sanitization, and protection of confidential resident, employee, and organizational information.
- Assist with workstation setup and equipment preparation for employee onboarding and offboarding.
Event and Administrative Support
- Coordinate with staff to determine equipment, supply, and material needs for meetings and community events.
- Maintain accurate event records in HubSpot and ensure consistency with established data standards and naming conventions.
- Prepare meeting and event spaces, materials, and technology to support a welcoming and professional experience for participants and guests.
Other Duties: Additional responsibilities and special projects may be assigned to support departmental and university needs.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets Queens University requirements for operating university vehicles.
- Experience coordinating multiple priorities, deadlines, and logistical activities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Zoom, and other collaborative technology tools.
- Ability to regularly lift, move, and transport equipment and supplies.
Preferred
- Experience in operations, inventory management, office administration, event coordination, logistics, or a related field.
- Experience developing or improving operational processes and procedures.
- Comfort with basic computer and device setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
