Job Description
This role partners with clients to translate business objectives into customer journeys, audience strategies, and cross-channel campaigns. The ideal candidate combines hands-on AJO implementation experience with a strong understanding of customer data, personalization, analytics, and marketing technology, along with the consulting skills to guide stakeholders from discovery through launch and ongoing optimization.

Customer Journey Strategy & Implementation
- Facilitate discovery sessions to understand client objectives, customer lifecycle needs, engagement use cases, analytical questions, and intended business outcomes.
- Translate business requirements into solution designs, implementation plans, measurement approaches, technical documentation, and clear decision criteria.
- Design, configure, and maintain customer journeys and campaigns in AJO, including entry criteria, events, conditions, actions, and cross-channel orchestration.
- Implement customer engagement programs that support acquisition, onboarding, retention, and re-engagement.
- Independently own complex workstreams, resolve ambiguity, communicate risks and dependencies, and improve outcomes with minimal oversight.
- Configure and deliver personalized communications across email, SMS, and push notifications based on client requirements.
- Develop audience targeting, personalization rules, and dynamic content using customer profile attributes and behavioral data.
- Collaborate with creative, content, and marketing teams to ensure messages align with campaign goals and brand standards.
- Apply consent preferences, suppression rules, and contact frequency requirements to journey and campaign execution.
- Perform end-to-end testing, troubleshoot issues, and support launch readiness and deployment.
- Configure and work with AEP schemas, datasets, identities, and customer profiles to support AJO use cases.
- Define audience segmentation requirements and validate audience readiness for activation.
- Partner with data engineers and architects to ensure customer attributes and events are available, accurate, and suitable for the intended use case.
- Support data ingestion and integration requirements between AEP, AJO, and connected enterprise systems.
- Apply data governance and consent requirements throughout solution delivery.
- Frame ambiguous business questions into clear hypotheses, analytical approaches, data needs, metrics, and decision criteria.
- Design measurement frameworks, KPI hierarchies, dashboards, and analytical narratives for complex business needs.
- Conduct trend, segmentation, funnel, journey, cohort, root-cause, and performance analysis as appropriate to the assignment.
- Monitor journey and campaign performance, investigate execution or data-quality issues, and recommend improvements.
- Connect customer, campaign, operational, and financial evidence to business value, ROI, opportunities, and performance gaps.
- Synthesize findings, options, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations into clear, executive-ready stories.
- Serve as a client-facing subject matter expert for AJO implementation and optimization.
- Collaborate with marketing operations, data engineering, architecture, analytics, delivery, and other cross-functional teams.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, solution demonstrations, difficult analytical discussions, and knowledge-transfer sessions.
- Mentor junior team members through coaching, review, analytical problem solving, and actionable feedback.
- Strengthen reusable delivery practices, analytical standards, data documentation, and quality processes within the assigned area.
- 7+ years of experience in marketing technology, marketing automation, customer engagement, customer data platforms, analytics, or related consulting work.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) and Adobe Experience Platform (AEP).
- Experience implementing and optimizing customer journeys and campaigns in AJO.
- Strong understanding of audience segmentation, customer profiles, event-driven engagement, personalization, measurement, and customer-insight generation.
- Experience working with Adobe XDM schemas, datasets, identity structures, and data ingestion processes.
- Experience delivering email campaigns and familiarity with SMS or push notification programs.
- Working knowledge of APIs, JSON, and integrations supporting marketing technology solutions.
- Understanding of consent management, data governance, campaign quality assurance, and data-quality considerations.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, workshop facilitation, analytical storytelling, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements and complex data questions into practical solutions, independently manage workstreams, and communicate decision-ready recommendations.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
- Adobe certification relevant to AJO or AEP.
- Experience with Adobe Real-Time CDP, Customer Journey Analytics, or other Adobe Experience Cloud solutions.
- Familiarity with HTML and CSS for email templates and personalized content.
- Experience with CRM platforms and enterprise data platforms such as Databricks.
- Experience with experimentation, deliverability, customer lifecycle measurement, executive dashboards, or KPI frameworks.
- Experience delivering enterprise marketing technology implementations in a consulting environment.
