THE POSITION

The Behavioral Health Clinical Administrator reports to the Director of Behavioral Health and will assist in the overall management, administration, supervision, and coordination of Nevada County’s Behavioral Health programs. The Clinical Administrator will provide leadership on critical department initiatives such as mobile crisis services, criminal justice programs, new benefits for children and youth and other new mandates the department faces. This person will convene key clinical staff and stakeholders to design programs in accordance with state guidance. This person will also help provide clinical oversight to the adult, children, and crisis systems to ensure quality outcomes. The Clinical Administrator is responsible for a complex mixture of administrative duties which include fiscal monitoring, contract planning, program improvement and quality oversight. In addition, the administrator may be called upon to represent the department in various internal and external settings. The Clinical Administrator is a leadership-level position which works in consultation with the clinical team and regional partners and outside agencies. Critical attributes for this position include:

  • Strong communication skills including the ability to collaborate well with internal and external partners
  • Experience providing clinical services ideally in the public behavioral health system

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, counseling, social work or field related to one of the previously mentioned, or as required for any required licensure, certification, or registration, AND five years of experience in the program area with significant managerial or administrative responsibilities.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Possession of a valid driver's license within 30 days of hire. A valid Class C driver's license must be maintained throughout employment in this class to perform the essential functions of the position.

Pursuant to Section 5600 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, must possess a valid California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker; Marriage, Family Therapist; or Psychologist (with an earned doctorate degree in psychology, educational psychology, education with a field of specialization in counseling psychology or education with a field of specialization in educational psychology); or, pursuant to Section 4999.20(a)(3)(A) of the Business and Professions Code, must possess a valid California license as a Professional Clinical Counselor.
