Job Description
Summary:
A bit about us:
We are a confident, open-minded, dynamic family of 3. We also have two friendly dogs (a large, older Boxer and a small King Charles). I work a hybrid, full-time schedule and have a direct communication style. Our last nanny was with us for three years, and we are so proud of her for getting her dream job! We are homebodies at heart and enjoy biking, walking, swimming, exercising, and spending time together. Above all, we want a caregiver who is reliable, safe, engaged, and helps make our afternoons feel easier and more connected.
Our 7-year-old child is outgoing, chatty, and precocious. She loves pastels, crafts, slime, gymnastics, swimming, and imaginative play. We appreciate caregivers who can roll with changing moods, keep things positive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with her.
A bit about you:
You are proactive, friendly, engaged, and even-keeled. You simply adore kids and getting to have fun with a 7-year-old. You can navigate big feelings without yelling or becoming overly strict. You take initiative, notice what needs to be done, and are comfortable helping with simple household tasks without losing focus on the child. You enjoy creative activities, can encourage independence and cleanup after projects, and understand the importance of being on time for school pickup and activities. Most importantly, you are someone our child can trust and look forward to seeing each afternoon.
Job Duties:
School pick-ups in your personal vehicle, provide safe, attentive after-school care. Help gather what is needed for gymnastics (4 afternoons a week), provide a snack, and transport our child to gymnastics and other scheduled activities. Stay engaged during the afternoon, homework help, enjoy arts and crafts, imaginative play, playground outings, swimming, or other age-appropriate activities. Support light household tasks such as loading and unloading the dishwasher, putting items away, folding and washing the child's laundry, occasional cooking (any skill level), and occasional dog walking. Help with small household-management tasks when appropriate, such as checking the grocery list against what is already on hand, light shopping, and adding school information or activities to the family calendar. Encourage our child to clean up after activities and take age-appropriate responsibility for her belongings.
Position Highlights:
Set yourself apart:
Bring a calm, even-tempered personality, a love of school-age children, and a knack for creative activities like crafts, imaginative play, or swimming. A proactive caregiver who can keep an eye on household details, communicate clearly, and encourage learning and independence will stand out. Pediatric CPR and a college education would also be bonuses!
Schedule: Monday-Friday (3p-7p) *Flexibility to shift to (2:30-6:30p) if needed.
Starts ASAP!
Pay: $25-$29 per hour
**All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired.
