Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Chief of Staff (Office of the CBO) based in India.
This is a high-impact opportunity for an ambitious, analytical generalist to work directly with a senior business leader and influence some of the organization’s most important growth priorities. You will operate across strategy, growth, go-to-market, operations, partnerships, and special initiatives. Rather than focusing primarily on administration, you will own complex problems, develop solutions, and turn strategic ideas into measurable outcomes. You will evaluate markets, customers, business models, and opportunities while translating data and insights into clear decisions. The role offers broad exposure to how a high-growth technology business operates, scales, and creates new sources of value. It is especially well suited to someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who enjoys ambiguity, building from zero to one, and driving meaningful change.
- Partner directly with the Chief Business Officer to identify, prioritize, and execute high-priority strategic and growth initiatives.
- Own strategic projects end-to-end, from developing initial hypotheses and conducting analysis through execution, measurement, and iteration.
- Evaluate new markets, customer segments, products, partnerships, and business models that could accelerate growth.
- Conduct market, competitive, customer, and financial analysis to identify opportunities, risks, and potential areas of expansion.
- Develop business cases, strategic recommendations, and actionable plans for senior leadership.
- Help launch and operationalize new initiatives, taking ownership wherever needed to move projects from 0 to 1.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, Finance, Operations, and other teams to move critical priorities forward.
- Act as a connective layer between senior leadership and teams across the organization, ensuring strategic priorities translate into effective execution.
- Identify organizational and operational bottlenecks and develop practical solutions to improve performance and accountability.
- Establish operating mechanisms, dashboards, metrics, and processes that improve visibility, ownership, and decision-making.
- Take ownership of projects where responsibilities or structures are initially unclear and create the framework required for successful delivery.
- Analyze business performance, sales pipeline, customer behavior, market trends, and other data to identify opportunities and risks.
- Build analytical models, dashboards, and business analyses that enable faster, better-informed leadership decisions.
- Bring structured thinking to ambiguous problems and distill complex information into concise recommendations.
- Monitor the impact of strategic initiatives and adapt plans based on performance and emerging insights.
- Use AI, automation, and emerging technologies to accelerate research, analysis, execution, and organizational productivity.
- Step into emerging business needs and special situations where additional strategic leadership and problem-solving are required.
- Approximately 2–3 years of high-impact professional experience, ideally in management consulting, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, technology, startups, strategy, business operations, or another highly analytical environment.
- Strong academic background from a top Indian university, with institutions such as IITs, IIMs, ISB, BITS Pilani, Delhi University, NITs, or other highly selective institutions considered relevant.
- Exceptional analytical, creative, and structured problem-solving skills.
- Strong business judgment and the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar industries, markets, business models, and complex problems.
- Comfortable working with data, financial models, business cases, performance metrics, and quantitative analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple fast-moving priorities simultaneously.
- AI-native and technology-savvy, with genuine curiosity about how emerging technologies can transform business operations and growth.
- Experience working within or closely alongside a high-growth startup environment is strongly preferred.
- Strong bias toward action, with a willingness to build an initial version, test assumptions, learn quickly, and iterate rather than over-optimize prematurely.
- Low-ego, hands-on approach with a willingness to take on whatever work is necessary to move an important initiative forward.
- Comfortable operating with significant ambiguity, autonomy, and changing priorities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the curiosity, resourcefulness, and ownership required to build solutions from scratch.
- Ability to work U.S. business hours while being based remotely in India.
- Fully remote position for candidates based in India.
- Opportunity to work directly with a senior business leader on high-priority company initiatives.
- Broad exposure to strategy, growth, operations, go-to-market, partnerships, finance, and new business development.
- Significant ownership over strategic projects and opportunities to drive initiatives from concept through execution.
- Opportunity to evaluate new markets, products, partnerships, and business models.
- High level of autonomy and exposure to senior-level decision-making.
- Opportunity to work across multiple functions and develop a broad understanding of how a high-growth technology business operates.
- Hands-on experience using AI, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies to improve business performance.
- Strong environment for developing entrepreneurial, strategic, analytical, and leadership capabilities.
- Opportunity to work on ambiguous, high-impact problems where your recommendations can directly influence business outcomes.
- Exposure to a fast-moving environment that values experimentation, initiative, learning, and execution.
- Inclusive workplace committed to equal opportunity, respect, and supporting diverse perspectives.
