Requirements of Forklift Operators

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a stand-up forklift to load, unload, and move materials within a fast-paced distribution environment.
• This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, heavy equipment handling, and safety protocols to ensure efficient and secure material handling.
• Prior experience in warehouse management systems, order picking, and heavy equipment operation is highly preferred.
• Must be able to understand and respond to various notifications, both visual and audible, unless otherwise stated by the client
• The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining smooth shipping and receiving processes while adhering to OSHA standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities of Forklift Operators

• Safely operate stand-up forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load and unload materials.
• Perform order picking using RF scanners and warehouse management systems to fulfill shipping and receiving needs.
• Load and unload goods from trucks, storage areas, and shipping docks with precision and safety.
• Follow OSHA guidelines and safety procedures at all times during operations.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to optimize workflow efficiency.

Qualifications of Forklift Operators

• Proven experience operating stand-up forklifts, order pickers, clamp trucks, or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse setting.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling.
• Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues.
• Experience with RF scanners, warehouse management systems, and order picking processes.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more).
