Position Summary
We are seeking an organized, proactive, and supportive After-School Team Lead to help oversee our afternoon program. In this key leadership role, you will assist the school’s closing manager by providing support to our after-school staff and students, help to implement engaging student activities, partner with parents during pickup, and ensure seamless communication with the Director and Assistant Director. You will also oversee end-of-day operations to ensure our facility is clean, compliant with state regulations, and ready for the next school day.
Schedule
The required work schedule for this position is 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Ideally, we are looking for candidates who can work additional hours up to a full-time schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Routine & Classroom Management: Provide a consistent daily routine across any assigned classroom during the after-school program, utilizing strong classroom management skills and maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
Staff Leadership & Support: Guide, support, and mentor after-school staff, ensuring strong team performance, efficient classroom management, and a positive work environment.
Activity Planning: Help to plan, organize, and implement creative, age-appropriate after-school activities aligned with Montessori principles and child development best practices.
Bridge Communication: Serve as a reliable liaison between after-school staff, closing manager, parents during pickup, and the Director/Assistant Director to ensure smooth operational continuity.
Closing Operations & Facility Care: Assist in the daily closing procedures, including light cleaning, sanitization, dishes, room reset, and securing the building. Step in to provide management coverage when necessary.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure the program complies with all state childcare regulations, health and safety standards, and school policies at all times.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Healthcare/Management preferred).
Experience: Experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of child development and familiarity with Montessori philosophy and state childcare regulations.
Certifications: Must have or be willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, and state-required Health & Safety training (paid for and provided by our school).
Clearances: Ability to pass a background check, health assessment, TB test, and fulfill state regulations.
