This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director, Medical Education Marketing, US Congress and TLL Asset Lead based in the United States.

This role leads national medical education strategy and execution across U.S. medical congresses and Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) initiatives. You will shape high-impact educational programs that support brand objectives, address healthcare professional learning needs, and strengthen engagement with key stakeholders. The position combines strategic planning, field enablement, congress leadership, KOL insights, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with Medical, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, and field teams in a highly regulated environment. The role offers significant visibility and ownership across enterprise-wide initiatives and external educational partnerships. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, it involves approximately 35–40% travel for congresses and internal planning meetings.

As an Associate Director, you will own the strategy and execution of medical education initiatives across congresses and TLL programs, ensuring activities are impactful, compliant, and aligned with broader business priorities. Key responsibilities include:

• Define and execute congress education strategies spanning symposia, product theaters, booth content, sponsorships, and other educational activations.
• Lead on-site execution at national and key regional congresses, including booth staffing, scheduling, training, certification, and post-event leadership readouts.
• Evaluate congress opportunities, sponsorships, and investments while partnering with field teams to identify new events and optimize annual spending.
• Build and maintain relationships with medical association leaders to identify opportunities for educational collaboration and professional engagement.
• Lead the strategy and development of TLL resources supporting engagement with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), including peer-to-peer discussions and insight-gathering activities.
• Own the end-to-end KOL insights process, from developing insight questions and training TLLs to coordinating reporting and ensuring actionable insights are shared across relevant teams.
• Develop KOL-led education and training sessions for field teams to strengthen clinical expertise and reinforce key messaging.
• Partner with Medical, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, and field stakeholders to ensure initiatives meet regulatory requirements and strategic objectives.
• Establish and monitor performance metrics for congress participation and educational activations, using insights and data to continuously improve strategy.
• Manage external agencies and vendors supporting content development, logistics, congress execution, and other educational initiatives.
• Maintain strong therapeutic-area knowledge and awareness of HCP learning needs and evolving medical education best practices.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare consulting, or healthcare agency environments, along with strong strategic, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills. You should be comfortable operating in complex, highly regulated settings and managing multiple priorities with precision. Key qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in life sciences, marketing, or a related field preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech marketing, healthcare consulting, or healthcare agency environments.
• Experience focused on HCP engagement, medical education, peer-to-peer programs, congress strategy, or related commercial education initiatives.
• Strong understanding of compliance requirements and experience working within highly regulated healthcare or life sciences environments.
• Ability to manage complex and competing priorities while maintaining strong collaboration across multiple functions.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with a consistent focus on accuracy, quality, consistency, and compliance across deliverables.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to develop practical recommendations from market, field, and stakeholder insights and translate strategy into effective execution.
