Job Description

Lead Fightback Campaigner

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead Fightback Campaigner in United States.

This role sits at the center of high-impact organizing and campaign strategy work aimed at building political power and advancing racial, economic, and social justice initiatives across the United States. The Lead Fightback Campaigner will design and execute large-scale campaigns that mobilize communities, strengthen affiliate networks, and shift public narratives around key policy and equity issues. Working closely with grassroots organizations, coalitions, and advocacy partners, this position blends strategic campaign leadership with hands-on organizing and leadership development. The role involves frequent collaboration with elected officials, funders, and movement partners to align efforts and amplify impact. It is highly dynamic, requiring both field engagement and remote coordination, with regular travel for in-person organizing, training, and campaign activities. This is an opportunity to help shape national-level movements while strengthening local and regional power-building efforts.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will lead the development and execution of fightback campaigns that expand grassroots power, deepen community engagement, and advance long-term movement goals.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with affiliate organizations, coalition partners, policymakers, and funders to strengthen alignment and participation in campaign efforts
  • Design, plan, and execute targeted campaigns and programs focused on key issues and strategic power-building opportunities
  • Collaborate with organizing, communications, and narrative teams to support affiliate-led base-building and public engagement strategies
  • Build and refine campaign messaging, narratives, and theories of change that drive community action and policy influence
  • Organize lobbying efforts, press events, leadership development programs, and other high-visibility actions
  • Provide strategic and tactical guidance for affiliate campaigns, cohort programs, and leadership development initiatives
  • Support fundraising efforts in collaboration with internal leadership to sustain and expand campaign capacity
  • Facilitate cross-sector collaboration and maintain strong engagement with external partners and allied organizations
Requirements

This position requires deep experience in grassroots organizing, coalition-building, and campaign leadership, with a strong commitment to social justice and community empowerment.

  • Extensive experience in grassroots organizing, base-building, and campaign development (often ~10+ years or equivalent impact experience)
  • Proven ability to design and execute policy or advocacy campaigns, ideally at regional or national scale
  • Strong facilitation and coalition-building skills across diverse stakeholders and communities
  • Experience working with advocacy networks, affiliates, or multi-organization alliances
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships that mobilize individuals and organizations into action
  • Strong strategic thinking, project management, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Deep commitment to racial, economic, and social justice, with understanding of impacted communities and intersectional equity issues
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking, messaging, and narrative development
Benefits
  • Competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $110,000, aligned with collective bargaining guidelines
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plan contributions
  • 15 vacation days in the first year, plus 12 sick days and additional paid holidays/PTO
  • Remote-first flexibility with regular travel opportunities for field organizing and national meetings
  • Structured collective bargaining protections through a recognized union framework
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact national campaigns with broad coalition reach
  • Strong professional development environment focused on leadership growth and movement building
