About the Opportunity:
Gunter Family Medicine (GTFM) is a welcoming, patient-focused family medicine clinic serving individuals and families throughout Gunter and the surrounding communities. As part of our front-office team, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients, setting the tone for a positive and professional experience. You’ll play an integral role in keeping the clinic organized and efficient while ensuring patients feel cared for from check-in to check-out.
About the Role:The Medical Office Receptionist is responsible for managing the daily administrative functions that keep the clinic running smoothly. This role combines front-desk operations, patient scheduling, and administrative coordination to support both clinical staff and patients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Greeting patients warmly and managing check-in/check-out processes
- Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling patient inquiries
- Verifying insurance coverage, collecting co-pays, and managing patient balances
- Maintaining patient records and ensuring accurate data entry into the EHR system
- Preparing and organizing charts, forms, and patient documentation for daily visits
- Coordinating communication between patients, providers, and external offices
- Managing incoming and outgoing faxes, emails, and correspondence
- Supporting front-office compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and confidentiality standards
- Assisting with administrative projects, supply orders, and general office organization
