The Role:

Goddard is seeking an Electromechanical Technician II to join our team. This position will be a great fit for candidates with a proven ability for qualifying, assembling, and testing mechanical and electrical components. You will get to work with various prototypes, fixtures, and testing equipment built from the ground up. Our clients come from diverse industries: Consumer Products, Medical devices, industrial automation, and robotics. Overseeing our 3D printing and machine shop, you will be responsible for working closely with our engineering team to provide exceptional services and solutions for our clients. Depending on our client’s needs, work could be performed at our office or at our client locations in the Boston or greater Boston area.

Responsibilities:

Be on-site in the Wilmington office during the work week, unless working at a client locationDirect shipping and receiving activities as necessaryWork with the quality department to conduct incoming receiving inspections using standard inspection equipment as requiredProvide oversite as well as assist in maintaining manufacturing areas to ensure cleanliness and organization are maintainedBuild and test assemblies and subcomponents for Engineering and Industrial Design groups following manufacturing process documentationSupport new product prototype builds as assignedAssemble and repair precision electromechanical parts, assemblies, and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, test equipmentHave experience with panels, pulleys, switching mechanisms, motors, power supplies, pneumatic valves, and actuatorsConduct, under direction, tests, and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performanceHave experience with power tools, and electrical safetyOversee equipment maintenance and calibration per the Goddard QMSCreate and/or otherwise maintain product build records to ensure Device History Records (DHR) and quality documents are accurate when requiredMaintain a clean and safe workplacePerform all work following quality standards and established safety procedureCreate or modify basic parts using a mill, lathe, and other shop toolsManage orders of replacement tools/materials as neededUse Netsuite to create items, purchase orders, and otherwise manage inventory and bills of materialWork with Engineering to assist in creating, reviewing, and editing manufacturing documentation (specifications, build plans)Follow up with vendors for product buildsMaintain records of supply chain activitiesAssist in developing work instructions, or procedures as necessary to support the product build areas (inventory, metrology, testing, project space, manufacturing and clean room areas)Assist with OSHA safety initiativesReport performance metrics (safety, equipment, vendor) to the Goddard quality departmentProvide document control support (assist the quality department with regards to pulling numbers, and processing records in the Goddard QMS)

Qualifications:

Must be a highly motivated self-starter who can manage their own time, and tasks with minimal supervisionWillingness to learn, and direct others as necessaryStrong written and verbal skillsHigh School Diploma, Vocational, or GED with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electromechanical assembly. Experience in other technical fields, facilities management or medical device manufacturing a plusMust have experience with both mechanical and electrical assemblies (building, troubleshooting)Must have experience handling electronics/electricityExperienced in the use of a multimeter, DC power supplies, Loctite/EFD dispensing units, and machine shop equipment (Milling and Lathe)Must have a basic understanding of ESD and solderingAbility to work with small components; this role requires fine motor skills and dexterityMust demonstrate basic computer skills, MS Word, and Excel. (Preferred candidates to have experience operating SolidWorks.)Experience with ERP/MRP systems a plusMust be a quality-minded team player that takes the initiative to improve product and process performance.Able to read, write, and comprehend English, and have basic math skills.Must be able to follow instructions & directions independentlyCapable of lifting 50lbsAbility to balance multiple tasks and responsibilitiesExperience with manual milling and turning a plusComfortable with general purpose shop tools to repair and modify prototypes (saws, sanders, grinders, hand tools)Ability to read and understand drawings/ BOMs

The pay range for this role is:25 - 35 USD per hour(Wilmington Office)
