Registered Nurse – Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Registered Nurse specializing in pre-operative and post-anesthesia care. Key Responsibilities:

- Assess and monitor patients in the pre-operative and PACU settings to ensure safety and stability before and after surgical procedures

- Prepare patients for surgery by reviewing medical histories, explaining procedures, and addressing concerns

- Administer medications and interventions as prescribed, and manage pain and discomfort

- Continuously evaluate patient responses to anesthesia and surgical interventions, adjusting care plans accordingly

- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care

- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and thoroughly

- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions

- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards

Skills and Qualifications:

- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice

- Proven experience in perioperative nursing, PACU, or pre-op nursing preferred

- Strong knowledge of anesthesia, surgical procedures, and post-operative care

- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

- Compassionate, patient-centered approach with excellent communication skills

- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

- BLS and ACLS certification required; additional certifications in perioperative nursing are a plus
