Job Description

Super Steel is a premier Tier-1 serial manufacturing supply partner to global Fortune 500 OEMs. We don’t just fabricate steel; we build complex, precision-engineered weldments.

We are looking for a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) who wants to step away from pure field auditing and into a leadership‑influencing role. In this position, you will split your expertise between high-level visual inspection and mentoring our growing welding team to build a top-tier metal fabrication workforce.

Top Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive Industrial Pay: Based on your experience, certifications, and expertise.
  • Comprehensive Health Support: Highly flexible Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) with pre-tax monthly employer contributions tailored to your family.
  • Immediate Benefits: Delta Dental, vision insurance, and paid holidays active after just 30 days.
  • Long-Term Wealth: 401(k) Retirement Plan with company matching available at 90 days.
  • Stability: 1st shift, Monday-Friday schedule.

Core Responsibilities (Mentorship & Compliance)

  • Weld Instruction: Provide hands-on training and mentorship to structural welders; facilitate new-hire weld testing and skill validation.
  • Quality Auditing: Perform precise visual and dimensional inspections on complex manufacturing weldments.
  • Code Verification: Ensure active shop procedures, techniques, and welding configurations strictly meet AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, and critical customer codes.
  • NDT Oversight: Review and map destructive and non‑destructive testing documentation for compliance.
  • Traceability: Maintain accurate, complete inspection reports, weld maps, and quality tracking records.

What We Are Looking For

  • AWS CWI Certification: Active AWS Certified Welding Inspector status is highly preferred, but we will consider elite senior welders with a clear track record who are ready to test immediately.
  • Code Fluency: Strong, functional knowledge of structural welding codes (AWS D1.1, ASME).
  • The "Coach" Mindset: Exceptional communication skills and an absolute passion for training, correcting, and developing less-experienced welders.
  • Documentation Skills: Professional comfort using MS Office tools and ERP manufacturing software to log test results.

If you're passionate about welding quality and enjoy helping others grow their skills, apply today!
