Job Description

  • GENERAL SUMMARY
    • The Manager, Security Technology is responsible for the strategic oversight, management, and continuous improvement of the health system’s physical security technologies and parking operations. This role ensures that security systems, access control, parking programs, and related technologies operate reliably, securely, and in alignment with organizational safety, compliance, and industry bet practice. The position provides leadership and supervision to the Security Technology Coordinator and Parking Coordinator, and works collaboratively with internal stakeholders, and external partners. Reports to departmental leadership.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Serves as the organization's subject matter expert for physical security technology, offering guidance and support across all departments and facilities.
    • Manages and maintains the organization's physical security infrastructure, including access control, video management systems, intrusion detection, panic alarms, intercoms, and parking access technologies, ensuring secure and efficient operation.
    • Establishes, revises, and enforces comprehensive policies, procedures, and standards for security technology systems and parking operations. Conducts user training related to security systems, maintaining accurate records of all training activities.
    • Ensures that security systems are designed, configured, and maintained to promote safety, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and adherence to industry best practices.
    • Responsible for creating and maintaining system databases, maintenance documentation, and technical drawings; develops operational metrics, generates reports, and monitors performance, service requests, and emerging trends in physical security systems.
    • Provides direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for the Security Technology Coordinator and Parking Coordinator, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and operational priorities.
    • Offers strategic oversight of employee parking programs, patient and visitor parking processes, validation systems, access assignments, and vendor-managed services.
    • Manages vendor contract compliance, service levels, upgrades, and capital planning for security technology systems.
    • Guides system expansions, replacements, and new technology implementations from initial planning to operational launch.
    • Participates in risk assessments, gap analyses, and vulnerability evaluations concerning physical security systems and parking operations.
    • Identifies opportunities to enhance system functionality, user experience, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Collaborates with Emergency Preparedness and Security Operations on drills, emergency planning, and system testing.
    • Leads, manages, coaches, and trains a team or department, provides guidance, support, and mentors to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
    • Oversees the recruitment, hiring, team/department orientation, performance appraisals and disciplinary actions including up to termination processes for a team or department.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
    • Required Licenses and/or Certifications
      • Valid driver’s license required
    • Preferred Licenses and/or Certifications
      • ASIS International Physical Security Professional (PSP), or equivalent, preferred
      • Hanwha and Software House CCure 9000 Manufacturer or platform-specific certifications preferred
      • Project Management related certifications preferred
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    • Required Education and Experience
      • Bachelor’s degree in security management, Information Technology, Facilities Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
      • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in physical security technology, facilities technology, or large-scale campus operations, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory or leadershiprole.
    • Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
      • Demonstrated knowledge of access control systems, video surveillance platforms, parking operations, and physical security best practices.
      • Experience working in healthcare, higher education, or large enterprise environment preferred.
      • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
      • Competency in Microsoft Office 365 and operational reporting or asset management systems.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
