Position Summary:

The Building Operations and Maintenance Repair Southern Border (BOMR S) Deputy Contract Manager assists the Contract Manager in planning, directing, and coordinating project activities, and participates in the conceptual development of new projects assigned. The Deputy Contract Manager supports the overall on-site management coordination of the contract and serves as the alternate point of contact with the Government, assuming the Contract Manager's full responsibilities and authority in the Contract Manager's absence. The Deputy Contract Manager helps ensure all employees are aware of pertinent contract provisions, assists in assigning work, interfaces with tenants and Government personnel, and helps ensure all contractually required deliverables are completed and submitted on time.

This role supports a potential contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the alternate point of contact with the Government and assume the Contract Manager's full responsibilities and authority in the Contract Manager's absence.
  • Assist the Contract Manager with day-to-day leadership and management of BOMR S, always representing our mission and core values, and serving as a mentor to team members.
  • Assist in setting objectives and goals for the team and communicating expectations, as directed by the Contract Manager.
  • Help ensure all team members receive proper orientation and training for their position, including Company policies and procedures, safety, equipment, new products, special skills, education, etc.
  • Provide supervisory feedback and documentation when required, in coordination with the Contract Manager.
  • Monitor day-to-day work to ensure it is performed in a timely manner, to the complete satisfaction of the customer.
  • Identify areas in need of improvement and recommend solutions to the Contract Manager.
  • Assist in maintaining and providing timely reports to the Director of Operations and Contract Manager on the operating conditions of BOMR S.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated, flexible
  • Strong computer/technology skills
  • Strong leadership skills, with ability to multi-task
  • Support the Contract Manager in meetings with the Contracting Officer, and represent the contract in such meetings when the Contract Manager is unavailable, to help ensure total compliance with contract requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and audits for assurance of service excellence
  • Assist in selecting and managing sub-contractors / vendors.
  • Assist in preparing cost proposals for Government approval.
  • Coordinate repairs with local CBP Field Officials
  • Create, track and report KPI’s as requested
  • Review and process invoices and other financial documents for the Contract Manager's approval.
Other Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:

  • Possess at least 2-4 years of recent (within the past six years) experience in managing or supporting the operation, maintenance, and repair, building alterations, customer relations requirements, and all other operational components of a similar size campus type facility (General Maintenance)
  • Possess at least 1-2 years of recent (within the past six years) using a web-based Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a supervisory or management position
  • Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Understanding of basic economic and accounting principles and practices
  • Proficient in relevant software applications
  • Ability to obtain Federal Government Security Clearance, and pass drug screening
  • Experience assisting in the management of a multi-million-dollar budget
  • Prior experience supporting or managing staff in geographically separated locations

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. ·
  • Must be able to lift to 40 pounds at a time. ·
  • Must be able to travel to offsite assignments.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
